  1. Barry Lakusta & Family :

    Dear Greg, Judy, and Randy:
On behalf of my family and Aunty Lois we offer our sincerest sympathy and prayers during this difficult time for the entire Cave family and those closest to Kari. Family gatherings at the Cave home were always so much fun, and as a cousin to me, Kari always made me and my family welcome and appreciated. I guess one can say that the apple does not fall very far from the tree and it is evident that Kari’s best qualities were both passed down to her and learned from the love in which you both as parents instilled in her.
Some time ago I do recall an opportunity where both Kari and I once talked about how much she loved and appreciated what you both as parents have done for her. She wanted to find a special way to say thank you to both of you and to those dear to her. I suggested planting a tree in your back yard where so many family gatherings took place full of laughter, love and support for all who attended. Perhaps one day we may plant that tree together and remember Kari for being such a lovely and caring person to us all.

  5. Trish Olenick (Johnson) :

I am so very sorry for the loss all of Kari’s family is going through. I first met Kari in Grade 8 at FE Osborne. As a new student she welcomed me with open arms. She always had that motherly love goin’ on 🙂 She will forever leave an imprint in my heart for being such an amazingly funny, kind, and warm person. The love for her children, grandchildren, and family speaks volumes of the family she came from and appreciation for those around her. May you all have comfort in knowing that Kari touched so many people in so many ways, she will be missed greatly.

  6. Amanda Bergeron :

Kari was all the things I never was. She was brave and bold and unapologetically herself. I loved those things about her. When we reconnected as adults it was like no time had passed. Her friendship got me through childhood hurts, teenage heartbreak and the most difficult time of my adult life. I will be forever grateful for the gift of her friendship. In some small way, I hope the stories of all the lives Kari’s light touched, bring you comfort. She was one of a kind. I will keep her and you in my prayers. God Bless.

  8. David Ypma & Lori Helgeland :

As a spouse, Kari was always the person I looked most forward to seeing at David’s work parties. She was so vibrant and welcoming and friendly and lively. Definitely a bright light! Dave and I were so shocked and saddened to hear that Kari had passed away. It’s not that we weren’t aware that she’d been locked in a brutal battle with cancer, it’s just that it’s hard to fathom the death of someone who always seemed larger than life, even during her fight. We hope the memories of everything Kari is bring you comfort during this difficult time; they will always bring a smile to our faces.

  9. Jaye Fisher (nee Williams) :

I just want to express my deepest sympathies to everyone who was touched by Kari’s life. Although we went to school together, we didn’t travel in the same circles. As an adult, I recognise how much that causes us all to miss out. I wish I had known her better.
    Sending peace.
