After his discharge he met and married Shirley the love of his life in 1956. He then enrolled in school in Toronto where he trained, as an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Government. Upon completion of his training he was assigned to Montreal, where they settled and raised their family, he was very active in the Masonic Lodge. The family transferred to Calgary, AB in 1976, where he finished his career. They made many new friends and Bob took up an avid interest in golf. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. On retiring in 1989 Bob and Shirley spent summers at Pine Lake, AB and the winter seasons at their home in Palm Springs, California, where they were both very active in the community.
