October 15, 1947 – Montreal, Quebec
February 8, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Rick Keess passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Thursday, February 8, 2018 after a short battle with bladder cancer.

Rick worked in industrial chemical sales for forty years and received numerous high achievement awards throughout his career. He viewed his job as more than just business, making good friends with many of his customers over the years. Rick simply loved people. He was a devoted husband and father, always making sure that his family was well taken care of. Rick leaves behind his wife Lorraine, daughter Jamie (Trevor); son Lindsey; grandson Gabriel; sister Catherine (Bruce); three brothers Alan (Susan), Colin (Leigh), Hal (Launi), two sisters-in-law Barbara, Martine (Don); mother-in-law Phyllis; nephews Harry and John, Adam and Stephen, Jeff, Colin; and niece Amy.

  8. Dearest Lorraine, Jamie & Lindsey….my heart breaks as I try to wrestle with Rick’s passing….from that very first Hallowe’en night in 1975 when we first met hanging outside the gates of McMahon Stadium so we could watch the fourth quarter of the Calgary Dinos game without having to pay, Rick was easily my best (and one incredible) friend throughout our time in Calgary. Although distance became a factor in our relationship when we moved to Vancouver, nothing will even dull the memories we shared…oh my, as I start reminding myself of those amazing memories, my eyes fill with tears all over again….I am SO thankful that Rick is safe and without pain in the loving arms of the Father…..our sorrow is that he was loved and will be missed….our joy is that he knows the Lord…..God bless you, strengthen you and comfort you, Lorraine, Jamie and Lindsey
