Lorne was born on July 2, 1939 in Lethbridge, AB. He was the eldest of eight children born to Reinhold and Harriet Karl. Lorne was raised on a farm in Picture Butte, AB. He had a great affection for the outdoors and loved the land and anything green. Lorne also was able to see his oldest grandson begin his missionary service in San Salvador, El Salvador, September 28, 2005. His life was a witness to his beliefs and he loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he was a friend to all he met and a stranger to none. Lorne will be loved and missed but also honoured and remembered by those whose lives he touched.
