Roy Kaiser passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Bethany Nursing Home after a short illness, one month short of his 94th birthday.
Roy was born in Calgary and lived here most of his life, except for a two periods of time working in B.C. He married Winn Marriott (nee
Storey) in 1956 and became an instant father to her two children; they went on to have two more sons. Roy grew up in the neighbourhood of Bridgeland, an area occupied by proud immigrant families who helped to create the city of Calgary.
He is survived by his children Rob Kaiser (Linda) and Don Kaiser (Cristina), both of Calgary and by his step-children Chris Marriott of Calgary and Michael Marriott (Martha) of Burnaby B.C. He is further survived by sisters-in-law, Doreen Kaiser and a brother-in-law, Jim Mabley and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his five grandchildren, Susan, Lisa, Sarah, Evan and Lauren, and his three great-grandchildren, Alice, Nolan and Gavin.
Roy was predeceased by all of his six siblings, as well as his wife Winn.
