JUKE, Wayne Jack

JUKE, Wayne Jack

 November 16, 1952-  Calgary, AB

February 3, 2014 –    Carstairs, AB

Wayne Jack Juke of Carstairs passed away at his dream ranch on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the age of 61 years leaving his wife Eleanor, and children Thomas, Pamela, and Lisa (Bryce) full of many happy memories.

He was the proud owner of Flesher Marble and Tile and reached a personal milestone of bringing his company to celebrate 100 years of service. His life at Flesher was beside best friend and hunting partner Alfredo Vaccaro. Wayne invested many years into building Flesher, known for their dedicated employees and committed clientele including everything from large corporate companies to Hutterite colonies in Western Canada. Wayne was very proud to get his first bull elk this year after many years of practice.  He also cherished his growing car collection. Wayne had a unique willingness to help those around him achieve their goals and supported many people in doing so.

He will be sadly missed by his parents Jack and Goldie, brothers John (Mary), Calvin, and sister Sherry (Lyle), and the large family he married into.

A Celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.  Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Wayne Juke, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.

I was saddened by the unhappy surprise news earlier this week of Wayne’s passing. I worked with Wayne on and off over many years in the Calgary construction industry, and working with him was always pleasant. He maintained a relaibly high quality of workmanship, valued his clients very highly, and also valued his employees as a top priority. The Calgary industry, Flesher Marble, and Wayne’s family have all lost an example of how people can work together and complement each others’ skills and talents to achieve quality and success. Rest in peace, Wayne.

On behalf of the Calgary Construction Association Executive, Directors and the members, I send our deepest sympathy. Wayne was a remarkable individual who gave back to the Calgary construction community unconditionally. He was a gritty, gutsy businessman who would plow a different furrow, rather than the same furrow everybody else plowed. The construction community will certainly miss Wayne who was enormously successful in his field.
He was passionate about his wife and children, he lived life to the fullest, accomplishing his dreams. His stories of his love for hunting and his cars were most entertaining, and while telling his stories, he always had a great SMILE along with that TWINGLE IN HIS EYES, just like a fourteen year old boy scout who was venturing out on his first field trip.
I have known Wayne for over three decades, “He Worked Hard and He Played Hard”. I will cherish so many fond memories of Wayne as you will. He left this world to early in life.
Sending my love to all of you. Dave Smith

We had not known Wayne for long; we had never met – only spoken over the ‘phone; but in two years – a short period of time – it became clear he was a man of few words, prefering his forthrightness, honesty and integrity to speak for him. It was truly an honour and a pleasure to do business with Wayne and all at Flesher Marble, an opportunity rare in any business. He will be missed; by all.

Wayne was a very kind and caring man, he helped me out greatly with starting out here in Calgary by providing space for us to operate our business. He was very fair and honest.

I had the opportunity to chat with him often over the past 3 years and I always looked forward to running into him here and there around the office and warehouse. He was always concerned about my well being and made sure everthing was right for everyone.

In the “early years” I had many wonderful fishing trips with the Juke Family. Christmas and New Year’s celebrations were always great times. . There was always “good spirit”, “laughter”, and “family fun” when our families got together.
I also had the opportunity to work for “Flesher Marble and Tile” and learn valuable skills in the process. The crew was great!
Wayne was always easy going, good natured, kind, and helpful. He always had a “good Spirit”.
