  2. Tom and Shelley McDonald :

Sandy, Graham, Barb and Colin, we were deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Lloyd’s passing. We will always remember his wry sense of humour and his ability to make everyone at ease. I recall at the wonderful family reunion at Shushwap, stumbling on Uncle Lloyd having a quick smoke, probably trying to get away from all the McDonald’s and Whitworth’s, saying with a quick smile,”Don’t tell Blanche”. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Shelley and Tom.

  3. Please accept my condolences for our beloved Poppie.
It’s a sad realisation that I never got to meet the great man that Colleen and the whole family always refer to so fondly of. Yet I also know from the family’s stories and the write-up that he lived a joyful and loving life.
Looking forward to meeting all of the family in Shushwap at the reunion and it will be great for everyone to take the opportunity to celebrate Poppie’s life together.

My condolences, love and hugs to all of the family.

  4. Dear Aunt Blanche, Cousins: Sandy, Graham, Barbara, Colin and families
You husband/dad rocked! We love Uncle Lloyd more than words can express! Loving, supportive, humerous, caring, generous are only a few of the words that come to mind. We will miss our dear Uncle very much! We are so fortunate to have his children as our cousins — who we also love very much!
Thank you, Uncle Lloyd, for everything you gave us from your heart!
And thank you also for the fire-engine red wheel barrow.
Lloyd & Stan, John & Vickie; David, Glenda & Betty; Kathy & Charlie and our families.

  5. Bob & Sally Miller :

    Dear Blanche and family,
We were saddened to hear of Lloyd’s passing, but what a long, happy and interesting life he had! Along the way, we were fortunate to be links in the chain of friendship that developed in Eagle Bay. Lloyd was a perfect host and counterpoint to Blanche’s wonderful dinner parties, and the instigator of the occasional social outing enjoyed by our travelling bridge club (three, sometimes four, tables). Lloyd’s friendly demeanour endeared him to everyone.
We thank both Lloyd and Blanche for many happy Shuswap Lake memories, and hope his parachute lands him in the place he would like to be.

  6. Richard Pegoraro :

    To The Jones family,

I was saddened to hear of Lloyds passing. I met him through my brother, a paramedic, who introduced us and I was the person who built his mosquito model (R-KP). We chatted about his and my flying career and it was a very nice time. He had an incredible life of adventure and travel. I wish all of you the best and am saddened for your loss.

    “High Flight”

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air….

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
    – Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

  7. To Lloyd’s family:

Owen Wilson – Lloyd’s lifelong friend passed this morning – exactly one year to the day after Lloyd passed. Benny Bengtson passed a week ago. Now all three pilots are back together again.

Owen always talked about Lloyd and Lloyd was at Owen’s 80th birthday party 2 years ago.

    God is good,
    Remain blessed,
Vern Wilson – brother of Owen
