Glenn was born in Calgary on August 30, 1935 and grew up in both Calgary and Lethbridge. He graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1957. Immediately following graduation he began his remarkable 35 year career with Chevron. He worked in various locations including Stettler, Red Deer, Edmonton, Calgary, San Francisco, and Newfoundland. Glenn met and fell in love with Marlene Gerlach in Stettler and they married in 1958. Glenn was an amazing man who had many great qualities. He was always entertaining with his sense of humor and story telling. He was the life of every party. He had a great love for his grandchildren, his many friends and cats. His numerous hobbies kept him busy as well: skiing, golf, curling, tennis, travel, and wine making. Upon retirement Glenn worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Chevron Retiree Association. Glenn spent the last 5 years in Carewest Signal Pointe suffering from dementia. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff in House Two. Special thanks to companions Sam and Cheryl. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Maureen, Lillian, Michelle, and Jackie as well as the support of friends and relatives who were always there for both Glenn and Marlene.

Glenn is survived by his loving family, his wife, Marlene, his daughters; Connie MacLeod (Chuck), Karen Urquhart (Emmett), grandchildren; Daniel and Matthew MacLeod, Kimberly Wells (Andrew), Max (Heather), Sean and Natalie Urquhart.

Glenn was predeceased by parents George and Thelma and sister Diane.

    Marlene

With great sadness that I see that Glenn has passed, however, he is now beyond the devastating dementia he has suffered this passed few years. He was one of the true “characters” that have provided fun and laughter in this old world. Everyone truly enjoyed and loved him. Take care, I know directly what you and the family are going through.
