‘and so she went beyond the horizon into the country of the dawn.’

We shall always remember Ruby’s sense of humour and how easy she was to be around.
We wish we had know her better for she must have been a very brave lady to go out to Kenya.
    With love, Barbara and Hermann

    Karl, Cynthia & Karen:

We’d like to offer our most sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved Mother, Ruby. Both Ron and I worked at Petro-Canada with Ruby during the ’80’s and continued a friendship with her for some time afterward until we lost touch. I have some very fond memories of our time at work and outside of work. We laughed a lot and had great visits with Ruby. We were particularly honoured to be the ones she entrusted to care for, and adopt her little dog, Dillan. He passed on in 1995, but whenever we look at his pictures, we think of Ruby. She was a good friend and confidant during those years of turmoil in the oilpatch, and her friendship was very much appreciated. She was even a stand-in “Grammy” for our two young daughters when needed. I also be forever greatful for the knowledge she gave me about a “good pot of strong tea”. Nothing else would do. We will miss her very much. We’re sad that we lost touch after she moved. Take care. Her memory lives on in her family.

We were so very fond of Ruby. I work at Grace Presbyterian Church and visited Ruby quite often. When I’d visit Ruby, her eyes would sparkle and always seemed so kind and appreciative of the visit. (She’d never fail to remark how much she loved Victor, our minister…she would say, “Oh, he’s got a lot of love, he has, a lot of love. Please give him my love) :>) Very Dear and endearing…
