  2. David H Searle :

My heart felt condolences go to Mona upon the death of Bruce Jackson, a class mate of mine from the U of A Law Class of 1961. I am so thankful that Bruce was able to attend our 50th class reunion in 2011. He enjoyed himself immensely. I will miss Bruce terribly because we did stay in touch.

  3. To Mona and Family:
I was saddened this week to learn of Bruce’s passing. Bruce articled at Fennerty’s one year before I did and, during those early years, Bruce and I were frequent late-night attendees at the office. We would conclude the evening with a beer or two at Fernando’s and I would drive him home to his apartment on 17th Avenue. I have fond memories of those times. After your marriage to Bruce, we became relatively close neighbours while my family lived at River Park. Our families grew up together at the Glencoe Club. Sadly, I had lost contact with Bruce in recent years and was unaware that he was not well. Bruce will always remembered by his friends as being a very creative caricature artist. I have several cartoons at home in which I was depicted. I am going to try and find them.

  9. Mary (Fraser) MacGregor :

Mrs. Jackson, Dave, Doug and Wendy (and your respective families),

I was truly saddened to learn about your dad’s passing. Your dad made me feel like one of “the firm” when I went to study for my final exams at the office with my dad. He checked in with me to see how my studying was going and always asked if I needed anything. The funny thing is that he asked the same questions when I visited your home on a Friday or Saturday night.
Losing a parent is a hard thing. I am learning that this year is bringing a whole bunch of “firsts” without my dad for our family. What I am finding to be most important is to “be there” for each other for your year of “firsts”.

Take time at the service today to look around – the people are there for you and respected and loved your dad very much. I am sorry that I am unable to come.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

    Mary

  10. It seems like only yesterday we were at Central together.
We always knew Bruce was smarter than most of us….as
evidenced by his love of baseball.
    He was a good man.

  11. I wanted to offer my condolences for your loss. My mum said she attended the service at Christ Church and it was full of honest and heartfelt reflections. It has afforded me the opportunity to reflect, myself, on the good times I had at your house playing with Doug, one of my best friends growing up. It would be great to reconnect. Wishing you courage and grace through these times and a peaceful New Year.
