IRVING – Carol-Ann (nee Jackson)

December 8, 1943 – October 8, 2010

Carol-Ann Irving of Calgary passed away peacefully of cancer on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the age of 66 years. Carol, beloved wife, is survived by her loving husband, soul-mate, companion and friend, Joseph Irving. She was also a loving mother to Cameron, Lara and Adria; loving daughter to Margaret Jackson of Bracebridge, ON; loving grandmother to Haydon, Aislyn and Aven. Carol will be remembered fondly by many other family and friends, including sisters-in-law, Ann, Krista and Marion and brother-in-law Donald. She was predeceased by her father William Ross Jackson; son Cameron Irving; and mother-in-law Rhoda Florence Irving.

Carol and Joe, with their children, moved to Calgary, AB in 1973. Working together, Carol and Joe built a thriving catering business. Carol was an accomplished artist and she left behind many great paintings for her loved ones to enjoy and cherish. She also leaves behind many wonderful memories. She was a confidant, a mentor, loving wife and mother, who shared lots of laughs and many memorable times. She was a genuine lady of class, and she will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

All friends and family are invited to Carol’s home for refreshments and to share great memories, on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A very special thank you to the Palliative Team for their care and compassion. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. Flowers graciously declined.

Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye.
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won’t say goodbye.
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I’ll be close to you.
It won’t be forever, the day will come and then
My Loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.

Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye,
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Ever waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Just wish to be near me,
And I’ll be there with you.

In living memory of Carol Irving, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.

  3. Joe and family,
I worked for a short time at All Beef with Joe (we moved to Sylvan Lake) and only twice had the pleasure of working with Carol. She was very fun and full of smiles. I know you will all miss her dearly. My heart goes out to you all. After reading the poem above I will never look at a rainbow without a smile again:)

  5. Barbara and Jim Burton :

    Please accept our deepest condolences.
I painted with Carol on several occasions when I was allowed into the Wednesday “sweet class”. She was a very special lady and always full of fun. She will be very much missed at the studio and as my husband calls them “The Arty Farty Parties” Unfortunately we will not be able to attend this evening’s soiree as we have a prior commitment. We will be thinking of you and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

    God Bless,

    Barbara & Jim Burton
