When the clouds of your sorrow lift, you will have such beautiful memories of your Mom. She was such a gracious, beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It has been such a hard year for your family. I remember the laughter your Mom and my Mom (Muriel) shared. I’m sorry that I can’t be with you today – but I’m there in spirit.

  7. June Pirie (Sinclair) :

Your mother was a dear friend to our mother & I enjoyed maintaining the connection through Christmas letters. She gave my mother a prism that hung in my mother’s window until her passing, my mother used to always say when the sun shone through and put reflected colors on her wall, “there’s Phyllis saying hello”. That continues when the sun shines in my windows today. Thinking of you.

  9. Rev. Wendy Bily :

My aunt just mailed me the notice of Phyllis’ death, (and with it, news of Margo’s death as well). I was so saddened to hear this news. Phyllis and Archie were a great support to me in my time at Vulcan United Church, and for 26 years, I have loved getting the Husby Herald each Christmas with news of the family. They both had an amazing gift of hospitality, compassion, and wisdom and I feel so blessed to have known them both. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you learn to live with her loss.

  10. Kristine (Voisey) Ross :

Phyllis was such a huge part of my childhood due mainly to the hours, days, and years I spent riding horses with you Brian, and Aileen. What I remember the most about your mom was her perpetual happiness and the way she would always kiss you both good bye when we would leave for a ride. We used to swing by your house so she could say hi to the horses and give them a sugar cube. She truly loved animals, her family and life. My thoughts are with you both, Patsy, and your families.

  11. Phil brooks son of Daphne Brooks :

Hi there, you wont know me but my mum, Daphne Brooks, was Phyl’s (as we knew her) lifelong friend in England. When we didn’t hear from her this Xmas I feared the worst, tried telephone number but came up unobtainable and a few enquiries via Google confirmed my fears by bringing up this site. Regrettably, my mum, Daphne(89), is herself now in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimers and severe memory problems so will have to remain unaware of Phyl’s death (she’d forget even if I told her). I just wanted you to know how much I will miss reading the annual Husby herald to Mum and what great friends they for there entire long lives. I am sorry for sending Phyl a Xmas card from mum and hope it did not cause anyone any distress.
