It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of an amazing lady. Helen (Ena) passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the age of 78 years.
Ena was born in Morley, Alberta where she grew up and also attended the Morley Residential School. By all who had the honour of knowing her. Ena was very devoted to making traditional tepee, tents and pow wow regalia. Ena carried on with traditional values and lifestyle. It was very important to her to pass these most precious gifts to her children and grandchildren.
Ena is lovingly remembered by family; husband of 56 years Charles Rabbit Sr.; children Linda (Abraham), Harvey (Janice), Homer (Sheila), Darrell (Pauline), Deidrienne, Lorraine (Ruben), Iona (Hank) and Maureen; Sister Mary Jane (Dallon) and Elizabeth (Minky); Brother Felix (Wanda) and Jerry (Ruby); thirty three grandchildren; fifty four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles. Ena was predeceased by her parents Nat and Gertrude Hunter; brothers Gordon, Nat Jr., John Dee; sons Harold, Stanford and Charles Jr.; Grandsons Darcy and Robbie; great grand daughters.
Thanks to the care team on unit 28 ICU and the staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
Wake Services will be held at the residence on Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at Bearspaw Youth Center (Morley, AB) on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB).
