HUGGINS-ROSENTHAL, Nathan Joseph

March 11, 1981 – Stoneham, Massachusetts
February 17, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Nathan Huggins-Rosenthal, age 34, slipped away from this world on February 17, 2016 at home.

Nathan was a kind, generous, soft-hearted and often quiet guy who adored animals and little children, and was deeply loved by his family and friends. From childhood he enjoyed watching the business news every night, then later on reading the stock market pages, a fascination that led him to a career in the stock market – despite his mother’s advice that he go into veterinary medicine.

Nathan grew up in a large, unconventional and loving family, and is survived by his mother and father; stepmother and stepfather; brother and sister; half-sister and half-brother; two step-sisters and three step-brothers; a niece and two nephews; as well as his partner.

The entire family is heartbroken beyond words at this tragic loss of a beautiful soul.

Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.
Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding
of the wings over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment,
and say your last words in silence.
I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.

~Rabindranath Tagore

  10. Chelsea Nickles :

My deepest condolences at this tragic time.

I knew Nathan in High School and we later went on to have great adventures on the East Coast when I was attending Acadia University.

Nathan had a great laugh which was so very contagious. He was also a great philosopher. Whenever I had a conundrum, he had an uncanny ability to see through the “fluff” to help me see (and accept) things as they were, not how I might have been dressing them up to be. There was freedom in that.

    Nathan will be dearly missed.

  11. I went to school with Nathan many years ago. How time flies..it’s unbelievable. I’m very shocked and saddened by this news. I was walking home from University and got a message from Sohinee. I spent the whole walk home thinking about the preciousness of life. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling, Karen and Garry. My heart goes out to you. You are both such lovely, open-minded, and truly compassionate people. Please keep shining your light in the world no matter what. You are truly needed and appreciated. I am so sorry for your loss..which was also your gain..the time you had together. Please remember that. Sending you much love from my family to yours, and from my heart to yours.
