Condolence Messages

  1. Tannis Stoski :

Your Dad (Pat, Donna, Frank) and husband (Jan) was a fellow who is forever etched into my memory. He was a gentle man who was devoted to his family and helped create a home of peace, happiness and comfort together with you Jan. I loved spending time at the Hufnagel home in Sunny Lee. I am sad for your loss and hope that good memories will help you celebrate a beautiful life. Sincerely condolences, Tannis

  2. Todd Goodreau :

    Dear Jan, Pat, Donna and Frank;

It is with a very heavy heart that we pass along our condolences to you on the passing of Carl.

He was an amazing man who we will never forget. Getting to know Carl over the past four years is truly an honor, and not to mention a lot of fun. He brought a smile to our faces (usually a good laught too) every time we seen him at the rink. It will not be the same without him.

We wish you all the very best during this difficult time.

    Take care,

    Todd and Nicki Goodreau

  3. Orv Francescone (Kosma) :

From age 5 until I joined the RCAF at age 17 we were practically joined at the hip. There is nothing and I mean nothing I remember doing in my young years when Carl was not there or involved. Over all these years it has always been a good feeling to know that he was there in Alberta. I will miss him terribly and will never forget him. He was a prince. However I would say that I was a better Altar Boy than him because I could pronounce some of those Latin words slightly better. His memory will always be with me

    Orv

  4. I’m sorry to learn of Carl’s death as you will all miss his presence.

Jan, l often think of you and l’ve always felt bad that we didn’t know you were leaving Brooks. You should have been honoured for the faithful job you did at Brooks Junior High for so many years.

You and the family are remembered fondly.

  7. Michelle Cave :

My thoughts are with all of you. Although I did not know Carl well I certainly had plenty of opportunity to see him, and Jan, all the time at the rink supporting their grandchildren with rides to and from and with their presence at games and practices. He always had something nice to say about everyone’s children. What a wonderful man and role model for all those kids (and parents)at the rink.
    He will be missed!

    Michelle Cave, and family

  8. David Balawyder :

We are very saddened to read about Carl’s passing in Cochrane Eagle today. Although my family and I were casual acquaintances, nothing was more heartwarming then walking into Spray Lakes, seeing Carl and having a chat. Our family affectionately remember Carl as “Grandpa”, this was they how he introduced himself when we first met.

All the best to the Hufnagel family during this most difficult time.

Dave, Laura, Brittany and Billy Balawyder
