April 4, 1918 – Kingston, ON
November 4, 2013 – Calgary, AB
Marjorie Horsfall, beloved wife of Jack Horsfall passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the age of 95 years.
Marjorie grew up in Toronto, ON where she was baptized and confirmed at St Paul’s Cathedral. As a child, she lovingly cleaned the altars. While living in Toronto, and before the war, Marjorie was a waitress at Union Station. It was here that she met Jack, who was to become her beloved husband of 69 years. During the war, she worked as an X-Ray technician in a munitions factory (for a “nickle a day danger pay!”). On June 3, 1944 Marjorie and Jack were married. Her family was relocated to Regina in 1967 and then to Calgary in 1969. Marjorie was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. Primarily she was a “people person”. Her inquisitive mind and her compassionate spirit gave rise to her uncanny ability to make friends – at anytime or at any place. Marjorie always enjoyed a good laugh and was always available to lend a hand to anyone, in any way.
Marjorie will remain in our hearts forever.
“May God bless and keep her and may His light shine upon her.”
Marjorie is survived by her only daughter Lynne Horsfall (Jim Bird). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie Evis (nee Horsfall). Marjorie was predeceased by her two brothers Richard and James McGill; her four sisters Irene McGill, Katherine McCartney, Evelyn Masson and Mary McMullan, as well as by her sisters in law Doris Rankin, Connie Price and Vera Bonsteel.
A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be announced at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
