HINES – Jackie (Jack)

February 13, 1938 – November 19, 2009

Jackie Leland Hines passed away on November 19, 2009, surrounded by his family. Jack suffered from heart disease and died while visiting his daughter and her family in Charleston SC. Born in 1938, in Wainwright AB, Jack had a successful career as a CMA, stock investor and franchise owner. Jack’s business acumen, including his passion for accounting, laid the foundation for holding senior executive positions in the cable industry. Officially retired, but always the entrepreneur, Jack continued to help build existing family businesses.
Jack was predeceased in 2002, by Lily Hines, his wife of 44 years. He is survived by his brother Dwight Hines (Dawn), his children John Hines (Karen Head), Timothy Hines (Helen Muszynski), Corinne Hines (Robert Martichenko), grandchildren Jordan and Kaighlie Hines, Emilee and Abigail Martichenko, and his dearest friend Barbara Armstrong. Jack was a man rich in spirit, richer in friends and beloved by many. He will always be remembered as a thoughtful and caring family man.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow in the Garden of Serenity at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.

  5. We were so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear father. He truly was a wonderful, caring man, and I enjoyed knowing him, and working with him. He often spoke of how much he enjoyed spending time with his daughter and family, so even though his passing is very sad, he was with his family.

    We planned to attend the funeral, but had unexpected family matters to deal with.
