November 10, 1926 – April 30, 2013
Margaret passed away at Chinook Care Centre with her children by her side on April 30, 2013.
Marg leaves behind her children, Suzanne Rogerson (Garry), Peggy Kay (Doug), Bill Hesson (Pauline), and Scott Hesson (Linda); grandchildren, Kate and Amy Rogerson, Isla Michelle Kay, Colin Kay (Julie), Cassandra and Alexa Hesson. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerry Hesson in late 2010, her sister Betty Planche in 1993 and her son John Barclay Hesson in 1952.
Marg lived her life in Calgary attending Sunalta and Central High School where she met many of the friends she stayed close with throughout her life. She partnered with her husband Gerry in all their life experiences, whether it was Hesson Electric, Terra Vista, Stampeder Football, Pinebrook Golf Club, archery, bowling or the Glendale Community, the district they lived in for 60 years. She began her career with the Alberta Government at the age of 55 working until she was 66 in the Sheriff’s office. She was an organizer and an energizer. Marg started entering contests in 1965, winning family and friends many prizes and holidays. She won trips to the Oscars, Stanley Cup, Grey Cup and the Superbowl. Whether it was political campaigns, hot air balloon rides, rock concerts or dude ranches, she was excited to try anything. Our mom was a great sport and cheerleader for all her children and grandchildren. May her “life spirit” live on in all of us. Our sincere gratitude to the wonderful care she received on the second floor of Chinook Care Centre.
