HESCHL, Edith (Edie) Pearl (nee Scabar)

April 23, 1930 – March 20, 2013

Edie Heschl, beloved wife of Al Heschl, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the age of 82 years.

Edie was born in Drumheller, AB and raised in the Round Hill area of Alberta. After graduating from the Marvel Beauty College, Edie and her sister Avis, operated the Cosmo Beauty Salon in Camrose. Edie met Alfred (Al) Heschl in 1952 and they were married in 1953. They raised three children, Allan (Cindy), Debbie (Tonie) and Colleen (Gordon). Edie devoted most of her time to being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

She did find time for a modelling career for several years with Savoir Faire and operating a beauty salon out of the family Braeside home before Al’s transfer to Toronto. Edie loved entertaining her many friends and family and didn’t often miss out on the variety of weekly card games she so much enjoyed.

Edie is survived by her husband and children; sisters Avis (Cec) and Mary Lou; brothers Arnold (Carol) and Donald; four grandchildren, Jordan, Ashley (Jiri), Andrew and Kelsey (David).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Foothills Country Hospice Society, P.O.
