HERRON – Madeline (Lynne) Josephine (nee Nolte)

October 25, 1936 – May 2, 2011

The loving family of Madeline would like to announce her passing at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, May 2, 2011. Lynne fought a brave battle this past month and we would like to thank everyone who expressed their love, concerns and goodwill.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Laura Kristiansen (nee Herron) and by her granddaughter Marisa Kristiansen, who was her true pride and joy (“Little Missy Muffet”, as she was affectionately known by her grandmother). Lynne is survived by her brother Eddie (Sheila); her brother-in-law Mel Jordan; and her constant companion Ron Keats. She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Frederick and her sister Kathy.

She was fortunate enough to have been surrounded by many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews from the Nolte and Herron families. Lynne acquired many good friends over the years, loved her community ties and was fortunate to have many neighbours with whom she spent a number of volunteer (and chatty) hours. The family knows Lynne will miss Mrs. Fawcett a great deal and, her partner-in-crime Lynne K. She loved children (influential in many of their lives) and her many furry friends over the years. Lynne’s most recent pup, Cruise, passed right before her and now they’ll be together. She lived a great life that ended too soon – now cherish the memories and bless her new adventure.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through Thanks to the staff in the ICU and Unit 61 at the Foothills, in the difficult days you helped her and guided us.

In living memory of Madeline Herron, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH Telephone: (403) 276-2296.

Offer Condolence for the family of HERRON – Madeline (Lynne) Josephine (nee Nolte)

Condolence Messages

  1. Mike Jones :

It’s with great sadness that I heard about Lynne’s passing. Over the years I’ve come to appreciate her commitment to community, friends, and neighbours. I’ve worked with her on the board of the Winston Heights Mountview Community Association. We’ve touched base about everything from volunteering for bake sales to neighbourhood watch.

We’ll miss Lynne in so many ways. I hope she lives on in each and every one of us as we try to make the community a better place for everyone.

    Mike Jones
    Past President, WHMCA

  3. Clara Asp(nee Keats) :

I was privileged to know Lynne, she and Ron visited when they went to Drayton Valley. She was planning a Keats’ reunion at Ron’s for this Summer. What a terrible and shocking loss for all who knew her. My heart goes out to you and my prayers are with you at this time. I will miss talking with her and her annual Christmas card. Love and God’s blessings, Clara.

  4. Bob Horvath :

It is with great sadness that I read of Lynne’s recent passing. Lynne and I worked closely together at Mobil Oil in Traffic for a period many years ago. She was a very personable, caring, hard working, wonderful person. I recall her balancing her work and the care of her daughter Laura who she loved so dearly. Although unfortunately I haven’t stayed in touch with her over the years, I remember her well and wish her family my deepest sympathy. She truly was lovely lady and will be missed by all that knew her.

  6. Linda Anne Sharp :

Lynn was one of a kind and this community will miss her tireless efforts – you couldn’t say no when Lynn asked you to bake or canvass or get your newsletter piece in on time. Personally, I’ll miss her laugh and her candour and the fact that she always said what she thought and meant what she said. My sympathy to her family on your loss.

  7. Helen Bugno and Don DiBenedetto :

To Lauren, Marisa, and Ron, Although we have never met you (with the exception of Ron) we certainly knew you through Lynne. She spoke of you so lovingly. Lynne was our neighbour and our friend. She was one of the first neighbours I met when I moved into the neighbourhood in the late 90’s. Lynne was everything you would want in a neighbour and a friend. She also was a wonderful writer with a wicked sense of humour who kept Don and I up to date about life on 29th and in Calgary while we live in Indonesia. She always amazed me with her determination to learn new things with the computer, her dedication to community life, and her love of animals. She was an inspiration! How we will miss her! I can’t imagine 29th Avenue and our life without her. I will always remember her sparkling blue eyes during my recent visit to Foothills. Our deepest condolences are sent your way. Miss you and love you, Lynne. Helen, Don, Tara, David and Daniel
