HENDERSON, Dorothy Henretta (nee McAuliffe)

July 11, 1923 – Winnipeg, Manitoba
July 24, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Dorothy passed away peacefully at the Chinook Care Nursing Home on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the age of 91.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was the only child of George W. “Bill” McAuliffe and Victoria Jestadt. Dorothy was a gentle and caring lady who enjoyed the simple things in life. In later years she particularly appreciated outings with the Chevron Retirees group.

She is survived by cousins Edward McAlduff of Nova Scotia and Randolph, Frances and Alva McAlduff of Prince Edward Island. She was predeceased by her parents and husband David Henderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow with internment in Assumption Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Special thanks to her friend, Ann Buckingham, for her kindness to Dorothy. Thanks to the caregivers at the Chinook Care who cared for Dorothy over the past 4 years.
