It is with great sadness we announce that Ron passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 62.

Ron was born in Olds, AB on November 21, 1946 and was the eldest son of Ray and Frances Helm. Besides his loving wife Julie, Ron is also survived by his sons, Steven (Paula) and Alan (Cynthia); daughter Jennifer (Clinton); seven grandchildren; as well as his brother, sister, loving parents and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

  5. Lisa McNall (Lisa Anderson Hill) :

    Julie, Jennifer and family,

I don’t know what to say…except laughter lives on…I met your family through my mom and dad (Loraine and Keith). I really got to know him more after Jaimie passed away. What I will remember most about Ron was his sense of humor. I worked numerous bingos with Ron and we always had a good time. He was a funny man, even when I was miserable and didn’t want to work a bingo, it didn’t take Ron long to put a smile on my face. Even though I haven’t seen Ron or you Julie in quite sometime my mom kept me in the loop of what was going on with all of you. I am however extremely sorry for your loss, and you are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find strength in each other.

    All my love,

    Lisa

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Ron may be gone but he will never be forgotten. I remember the great times Ron & I had cleaning and watering the outdoor rinks in Penbrooke and all the years we spent building, transporting and assembling props and sets for dancing, those were good times. While we worked casino Ron would talk to me about the trips Julie and he took to Jackpot and the fun you had. Lois & I can never express enough our appreciation and gratitude for the support over the years Ron has given to the Memorial Foundation. What a great guy we’ll miss him.

Our deepest sympathy Don & Lois
