January 1, 1928 – May 19, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matt, beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Matt passed away peacefully at the Santuari Hospice on Sunday, May 19, 2013, with his devoted grandson Chris at his side, losing his fight against lung cancer. He was predeceased by his dear wife Levina in January 2011.

Upon retirement in 1980, he devoted his life to organizing and canvassing door to door for many charities including the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Society, Lung Association and MS Society. Matt was a devout parishioner of the Corpus Christi Catholic Parish since 1959.
Matt is survived by his children Rod (Kathy), Rosalie, Donelle (Paul), Dan (Dede), Norma (Mike); grandchildren Brad, Chris, Andrea (Chad), Megan (Dave), Corey (Justine), Alaina, Scott, Erin, and Nigel. He was especially proud of his first great grandson, Jace.
