October 14, 1929 – Montreal, QC
August 17, 2013 – Calgary, AB
We are saddened to announce the passing of James “Jim” Allan Heath, after chronic illness but, as was his nature, with grace and dignity.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Andrea Sartor (Bob); son Stephen (Kathleen Ippersiel); brother Art (Norma); and his sister Joyce Borthwick-Leslie (David). Jim was proud Poppa to James, Matthew, Laura, Kelly, Karine and Claudine. He was predeceased by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Joyce Norma (O’Neill) and his daughter Susan Lorena.
After retiring from a rewarding career as a lithographer for the Fine Printing division of the Montreal Gazette, Jim and Joyce settled in Baldwins Mills, QC. Always an outdoor enthusiast, Jim was an avid skier and golfer. He enjoyed boat-building and sailing throughout his life. In his years on the lake, he became an accomplished gardener and a terrific artist. He and Joyce enjoyed a busy social life in their community and on the golf course.
They moved to Calgary in 2000 to be closer to family and they embraced their new home in the foothills of the Rockies.
Despite many physical limitations in his later years, Jim maintained a positive attitude, a keen sense of humor and an abiding interest in the world at large and in the lives of his loved ones.
At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral. A joint Celebration of Life will be held for Jim and Joyce at their beloved Lac Lyster, QC this October. Forward condolences through www.McInnisAndHolloway.com. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Eau Claire Residence for their kind, respectful support of Jim in these last years.
He will be missed.
