Dwayne was suddenly taken on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
He journeyed to many places and along his journey encountered numerous people, some who became his adoptive parents, brothers, sisters and countless friends who he cherished with great respect and kindness. Dwayne graduated from Kainai High School and went on to Devry where he realized that he wanted to pursue his education at Lethbridge College completing his accounting program. He was employed by Siksika Nation for many years and legacy of uplifting people through his humour and good nature. Dwayne had a deep love for his wife and children and would often brag about his kids accomplishments to those who would listen, as any proud father would. He also would make his yearly trip to Vegas to try his hand at gambling, loved sports and was a dedicated fan of the Calgary Flames regardless of their losing streak he had great confidence in his team. He also loved baseball and would cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays.
Dwayne was survived by his wife Tanya, two children Chelsea and Riley, step children Jacinta (Christian) Taylor (Codi), and Brandon; Mother Anne Sharon, Step mother Nora, sister Cynthia (Randal), Tanya, Brother Leslie (Bonnie), Blake, Brandon(Darcy), nieces Sherri, Allison, Randi, Lateycia, nephews Cassidy and Davis numerous great nieces and nephews. Uncles Mike (Connie), Gerald( Donna), Wilford, Dave (Shirley), Leslie (Evelyn), Victor, Aunties: Rosaline, Vivian, Nora, and grandson Myles.
Dwayne is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Mike and Francis Running Rabbit, paternal grandparents Dave and Gwen Healy, father Richard Healy, sister Tristen Healy, Randall Axe (step-father), Uncles: Stanley Running Rabbit, Merle Healy, Fred Healy, Aunties: Eleanor Starlight and Dorothy Ward, cousins: Stanley (Kojack) Jr Running Rabbit, Victor (Jr) Starlight, Puff Ward, Rusty Healy, nephew Reyd Rabbit Carrier.
Wake services will take place at Siksika Community Centre, on Friday October 11, 2013. Funeral Services to be held at Holy Trinity, Siksika on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 12 pm with burial to take place at Paul Little Walker.
