Thomas (Tom) Patrick Hayes, beloved husband of Mrs. Ann Hayes of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the age of 76 years.
Tom was born in Regina, SK on March 17, 1928. After completing high school he attended St. Paul’s College in Winnipeg, MB and went on to study Arts at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Tom began his career with Kramer Tractor Caterpillar in 1953, where he was employed for forty years. The last eleven years were spent as Manager of the Saskatoon branch. In 1996, after retirement, Tom and Ann moved to Calgary.
Tom was well read and enjoyed history and current events. He had a generous spirit and was keenly interested in the lives of family and friends. His deep faith served as an example for all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife Ann, Tom will be remembered by his five daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and John Lojek of Calgary, Patty and Ian Gray of Winnipeg, MB, Margaret and Brian Strain of Nanaimo, BC, Lorna and Byron Merkosky of Edam, SK, and Susan and Chris Sparling of Calgary; his twenty grandchildren; and his sister Mary Boyd of Vancouver. He was predeceased by a grandson Thomas Patrick Hayes Lojek; and parents Thomas and Ella Hayes.
