Condolence Messages

  1. Charlie lived a long and amazing life! He was my first “boss” with Parks Planning, from 1967 to 1970. In addition to the excellent parks system in Alberta, his legacy included the cadre of staff that went on to distinguish themselves in public service throughout western Canada. The family should be very proud!

  2. Louise and Ted Frechette :

Having just heard of Charles Harvie’s passing, we want to offer our condolences to the Harvie family, especially to Jean, Patti, Barbi and David, who we have known for 46 years. We had many good times with Jean and Charlie, beginning when I began working for Charlie in Alberta Park Planning. They included wonderful staff Lamb Barbecues at the acreage, many get togethers with Jean and Charlie, meals and visits on Vancouver Island, Summerland and later in Calgary. The last good time together was a lunch on their 69th Wedding Anniversary last spring. On visits to see them Charlie showed his green thumb growing many thriving, different and often exotic plants. They were such a joy to visit and Charlie always had great memories of past happenings, tales of his fishing trips or accounts of the many trips they took. They were the travellers, in their truck camper, and later they often took to the skies or embarked on ships, and even by rail, travelling to many interesting places.

Charlie was a great guy, boss and friend. May he rest in peace.
