Harrison, Philip Arnold

After a short but valiant battle with a malignant brain tumour, Phil passed away peacefully with his wife Tracey and son Brett by his side on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Born in London, England in 1946, Phil immigrated to Canada in 1977 where he met his wife Tracey and they began a family. An avid golfer, soccer fan (Arsenal was his team) and gardener, Phil led a very active life and enjoyed being with his family and all his many friends. Phil was employed in the construction industry for over thirty-five years, the latest as a Vice-President with Ellis-Don. The loss of this knowledge and expertise will be felt in the construction industry in Calgary. Besides his loving wife Tracey, Phil also leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law Brett and Carmen Harrison; his sister Lynne Jeffrey in Toronto, ON; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Barb Pates; niece Genevieve ; nephew Dillon; and in-laws Bill and Phyllis Pates of Swift Current, SK. He was predeceased by his parents Ian and Dorothy Harrison; and brother-in-law Vern Jeffrey. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Many thanks to the caring staff of Units 111 and 112 of the Foothills Medical Centre, Unit 46 of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, South Calgary Palliative Home Care Team, and Foothills Country Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity close to your heart. In living memory of Phil Harrison, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
