HARDER (CLEVELAND), Codi-Ray

February 9, 1985 – Halifax, Nova Scotia
April 15, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Codi-Ray, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the age of 32.

Born on February 9, 1985, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Codi moved with his family to Abbotsford, BC in 1987. As a young adult, he relocated to Calgary, Alberta; he fell in love with the City and decided it would be his forever home. While Codi was building new relationships and becoming the “Epic One”, he maintained strong ties with many of his childhood friends. His charm, wit, and outstanding sense of humor brought many more people into his life. He was a genuine and generous person who took great pride on being someone you could count on in your times of need. His Grandmother noted that Codi did not just “talk” to you; he knelt down, looked you in the eyes, and spoke from his heart. He had the ability to light up a room with his vibrant smile and contagious laughter. Our Epic One will live on through his pride and joy, his beautiful son, Atticus.

Codi leaves behind his parents, Brian and Tami Harder; sister and brother-in-law Callahan and Keefer MacDonald, his partner Melissa Faye Sloane; his son Atticus; his grandparents, Geraldine Bezanson and Tom and Charlene O’Byrne; stepson Bronson; half sisters Laura and Jennifer Cleveland and half brother Kyle, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Winston Bezanson and Uncle Derek Bezanson.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:30p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

Dear Cal, beautiful girl, the loss of a brother is painful and leaves you wondering how you can carry one without him. I lost my dearest brother in December and even though the hurt eases each day, your heart will always ache at his memory. I have to believe that I will see him again some day so that I can carry on. Dear Brian and Tami, I cannot begin to fathom your pain at losing such a brilliant, special and gifted son. I always knew he was someone special. It is a terrible loss to everyone who knew him and those who didn’t get the chance. Draw upon your love for each other to give you strength to get through this difficult time. Know that even though we may not be in your life at the moment, we still care deeply about you and share your pain.

  4. Kenna Longiye :

Codi left an impact on my life as well as so many others. He had such a big heart and always went out of his way to see other’s happy. My heart is heavy knowing I will never get another message from him to “just check in”, or will never get to hear him tell me how much he loves his sweet son. My thoughts and sympathy are with the family during this very difficult time.
