HARALABAKOS, Peter

May 21, 1937 – August 18, 2012

Peter Haralabakos(“the rock”), our most giving and loving husband and father, slipped away from our arms on Saturday, August 18, 2012 to be forever in peace after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.

Born in Anogia, Sparta, Greece he began his journey and immigrated to Canada in 1956 and later to New York where he owned and operated successful restaurants and met his soul mate and love of his life Effie Haralabakos (predeceased 2006) He then moved to Calgary in 1976. Together they raised three children George, Ari and Joanna.

Peter was a devoted and respected father, teacher, grandfather and business visionary. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and vacationing back to his home land Greece.

He taught us so much, through his great wisdom and strength, and will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent S.W., Calgary) on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Peter Haralabakos, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403)243-8200
