HANNAFORD, Marvel Margaret (nee Jacobs)

Marvel Hannaford, beloved wife of Harry Hannaford of Calgary, died on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the age of 90 years.

Marvel was born and raised in the small town of Milestone, SK. She graduated in 1945 from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Household Science. While attending university she met Harry, her husband to be of sixty-two years. Marvel worked at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC as a dietician, and at the General and Holy Cross Hospitals in Calgary. After the children were older, Marvel worked at the Evelyn De Mille bookstore where she was able to pursue her love of reading. As a wonderful cook, Marvel took great pleasure in entertaining and hosting dinner parties.

Marvel is survived by her son Dale (Dianne); daughters, Lee and Kim (Bruce Jamer); as well as by her four grandchildren, Bradly, Kelly, Megan and Ben. Marvel was predeceased by her beloved husband, parents and two brothers.
