Condolence Messages

  1. I know you will miss your Mom, Garry and Murray, as will I miss Aunt Peggy. I have so many memories of being with Uncle Dean and Aunt Peggy…the times we celebrated Christmas together, the Calgary Stampede get togethers, picnics at the zoo. I know your old home intimately because one year Aunt Peggy hired me to help with her spring cleaning. She made orange julius to drink while she supervised my washing of her walls. At Christmas, Aunt Peggy always gave me wonderful gifts, including my favorite, a poncho that she knitted. In the later years, I always looked forward to Aunt Peggy’s Christmas letter informing me of all her doings. Ron and I send our condolences and love to you.

  5. Sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. May I extend my deepest sympathy to the whole extended family. I fondly remember your visits to Ontario.. Although my parents (Allan & Lorraine Haggins) have both passed on they treasured the correspondence with their “western” cousins.

  7. I was fortunate to know Peggy years ago when she attended our clinic at the old General Hospital. A delightful lady and always asked me to make sure her lab report was available for the doctor, She was in fact saving me from the doctor’s inevitable call to me to search for the lab results. What a lovely lady, I cherish her visits even after all these years. Condolences to Peggy’s family.

    Dear Haggins family,
It is with sadness that my wife and I read of Peggy’s passing. She certainly had a good long life with wonderful family. I always enjoyed working with Dean at Calgary Power, and the functions attended with Peggy. Great people who will be missed by all.

  9. No matter the age of a person, the final goodbye is always sad. They will be with us no longer on this earthly journey.
Our family was a small one. My father and mother each only had one brother. Since my mother’s brother lived a long way from us , Aunt Peggy was the aunt that we really got to know. She was a woman with style who took pleasure in making “girl” things for her nieces so my sister, Kim, and I benefited from her skill. My first memory of time with Aunt Peggy was when she and her husband did a child swap with my parents. My family took my cousin, Garry on a camping trip with them and I got to stay with my aunt Peggy and uncle Dean at their home in Calgary. I remember playing with my other cousin, Murray, in his tent in the backyard and I remember Aunt Peggy enjoying trying to style my very short hair into a ducktail in their bathroom! On the leading edge of hair styles at 6.
I have so many happy memories of our family times together. Calgary was a favourite place to visit because of Aunt Peggy and Uncle Dean
A generation is passing and the circle of life moves on. Big hugs to Garry and Mickey and Murray and Marilyn and all those grandchildren whom Aunt Peggy loved so much.

Gary, Micky, Murray, Marilyn and families,
We know this is never easy, even when the number of years of your Mom’s life has been this many.
Your Mom was always a sweetheart, you may remember that I stayed with you when I attended SAIT back in the fifties, and Carole also got to know your Mom’s hospitality when I was in the hospital there for a month.
I still dream about my parents after all these years. I expect you will also, this has always been
    a welcome event.
    Blessings,
    Dwight & Carole
