Hagel, Marcus

Marcus Hagel, of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the age of 90 years.

Marcus was born in Beiseker, Alberta and attended Silbernagel School. He served in WWII from 1942 to 1945 and upon returning he started farming in the Beiseker area until his retirement in 1960 when he moved to Calgary. In January, 1999, Marcus moved to the Rockyview Lodge, Crossfield where he resided until entering the Didsbury Long Term Care Facility in June, 2005. Marcus has been a member of Knights of Columbus since 1941.

Marcus is survived by one sister, Agnes Schmaltz, of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
