HAASE, Carol Ann (nee Culp)

July 16, 1947 – October 21, 2012

It is with heavy hearts we sadly announce the peaceful passing of Carol Ann Haase of Beiseker, AB on Sunday October 21, 2012 at the age of 65 years.

Carol was born on July 16, 1947 in Calgary and raised on the family farm just north of Irricana. She attended school in Irricana and graduated in Kathyrn. Years later she earned a degree in Teaching at the University of Calgary. She had an immense passion for teaching and a compassionate heart that lead to her career of Early Childhood Development. Carol’s second passion was gardening; she always had the greenest lawn in town and the prettiest flowers on the block; she took great pride in her vegetable garden which she nurtured all season long.

Carol leaves to treasure her memories, three children that were her pride and joy, daughter, Raelene (Randal) Praeker, Chad (Stacey) Haase and Jason Haase (Kathleen Carter); her grandchildren, which were the light of her life, Grace and Chloe Praeker and Kyle and Nathan Haase. She will be deeply missed by her sister and best friend Diane (Grant) Summach and her brother Glen (Janice) Culp and her nephews, Ryan Culp, Darren (Kate) Culp and Cameron Culp. She will also be greatly missed by her much loved Uncle Wilfred Heringer. Carol was predeceased by her parents Evertt and Mary Culp; and her beloved Aunt Mildred Heringer.

A tribute to Carol’s life will be held at the Irricana United Church (14.5 kms East of Airdrie; or 9.7 kms West of Irricana – on Hwy 567) on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Irricana United Church Memorial Fund, Box 128 Irricana, AB T0M 1B0 or Calgary Hospice 1245 70 Avenue Southeast Calgary, AB T2H 2X8. The family wishes to thank the Angels that have guided them through these difficult months, including the home care nurses, aids and the amazing group at the Rosedale Hospice.

In living memory of Carol Haase, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.

  6. Madeline & Ray Courtman :

It is very sad to hear of Carol’s passing. We have very fond memories of Carol when we began teaching on the same staff at Beiseker in 1969. Although we went in separate directions, we always kept in touch. Carol had a fun-loving spirit and I always enjoyed talking about teaching and family with her. We will miss her and wish to express our sincere condolences to all her family.
