Kathy Gurnett beloved mother of Jennifer Gurnett (25) and Alex Gurnett (22) of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the age of 57 years.

She was employed by the Calgary Separate School District, primarily as a secretary. She loved being involved in the lives of children.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling as much as she could, especially to Disneyland. She was an avid Genealogical researcher and concert fan.

Kathy is survived by her loving children Jennifer Gurnett and Alex Gurnett; as well as her second family, Marg Simpson, of Lacombe, Barbara and Barry Westwood and their children David and Elizabeth of Lacombe, Don and Anne Marie Simpson and their children Byron and Theresa of Edmonton. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Cecil (Shorty) Thompson, daughter Jessica Gurnett, and loving pet Pepper. She was also predeceased by Jack Simpson, and friends Edna and Slim Lepine.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.   13. Kathy you were an inspiration to many. From the day I met you I knew you would be someone special in my life. Although we only had a short time as friends it felt like we knew each other for years. I will always miss you and every time I see anything peanuts I will think of you.
