Agnes Guenther, beloved wife of the late Henry Guenther, passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus on July 7, 2014 at the age of 89.
Agnes was born in Seven Persons, Alberta. She and Henry resided in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge prior to moving to Calgary in 1963. Upon retirement they moved to DeWinton where they made many good friends and enjoyed country living. In the late 1990’s they returned to Calgary.
Agnes was a talented artist. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, entertaining, but most of all spending time with her large extended family.
Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her children Carole (Fred) Melbourn and Gary Guenther (Carla Piasta). Grandchildren Stacey (Terry) MacDonald, Scott Melbourn (Denise Burgoyne), Rose Guenther, and Kashmir Guenther (Justin Stead). Great grandchildren Tyler, Emma, Addison and Harrison. She is also survived by a brother Jens Jensen of Brooks and a sister Inger Serr of Olympia, Washington, sister-in-law Ida Nichols of Medicine Hat and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Agnes was predeceased by sisters Lily, Anna, Elna, Jennie, Mary and Helena.
The family would like to thank the staff at the South Health Campus, Unit 66 North Wing for their gentle, compassionate care of Agnes.
