GRIFFITHS, John David

February 24, 1939 – January 16, 2012

John Griffiths, beloved husband of Elaine Cannady of Calgary, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 72 years.

John was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and worked as a lineman there and in Calgary. He enjoyed the golf trips he took with his buddies to the Spokane area and time spent at “The Slab”. John’s friend Bob Romney raised race horses and John enjoyed spending time at the barns and the track for many years.

John is survived by his wife Elaine; two sons and a daughter Kent (Renee) Griffiths, Kevin (Brenda) Griffiths and Kerri (Al) Zinger; seven grandchildren, Kirk, Amy, Tia, Cameron, Becky, Scott and Brook; a brother and two sisters, Patricia Godson, Terry (Teri) Griffiths and Sandra Griffiths. John will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Susan and Tim Griffiths, and a sister Anne Freeman, as well as Elaine’s son Shayne Barca.
