William Edwin (Ed) Gregory of Calgary passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the age of 92 years.
Ed was born on August 25, 1916 in Calgary, AB. Ed married Dorothy Fanthom in 1943, before leaving for military service in WWII. He served in France and Germany until the end of the war. Returning home; he worked for Maple Leaf Mills in Calgary for many years. He was an active member of the Associated Canadian Travellers and was a long-time member of Central United Church. Ed enjoyed being with his family and friends, and was proud to be a member of the Mount Pleasant Community for over 60 years. In 2004 Ed moved to live at the Scenic Acres Retirement Residence, where he made many new friends.
Ed is survived by sister, Florence (Ted) Keith, of Banff, AB, brothers, Vic (Shirley) Gregory, of Calgary, AB, and Reginald (Christine) Gregory of Edmonton, AB, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy on September 5, 2006, his parents, William and Joan Gregory, and his sister, Lois Aikins.
