GREENWOOD, Timothy (Tim) Hearthstone Tertius

January 31, 1969 – Sidcup, Kent, England
October 19, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Tim Greenwood, beloved husband to Rosemarie, and son of Robin and Sharon Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 19, 2014.

Tim was born in Sidcup, Kent, England, on January 31, 1969. At the age of one, the family then moved to Calgary.

Tim grew up in Calgary, completing his education by graduating from Crescent Heights High School, where he excelled in football and rugby.

Tim eventually started work with Western Research in 1990 and remained with the company, now AMETEK Canada LP, for twenty-four years, working his way up from an assembler, to his eventual role of QA / Document Control Manager.

In his years with AMETEK, Tim was considered not just a work colleague, but a good friend.

Even in his later years, Tim loved to learn, he continued his education at SAIT and the University of Calgary, completing courses in an effort to receive his business degree.

The family cabin in Spur Valley (Radium) was very dear to Tim’s heart, enjoying time there in his younger years with family and in his later years with his wife, the boys and family. The serenity and beautiful landscape always re-energized him.

Tim enjoyed playing golf, racquet ball, and a good game of pool. In the last few years, his love of food became apparent, as he was always searching for recipes, trying them, and then adding his own twist.

Tim leaves behind his wife Rosemarie; two step-children Shelby (Mike) and Evan; his father Robin and mother Sharon in Atlanta, GA; his step-brother Murray (Ashley and Aria); brother-in-law, John (Mooktida and Abby); his uncles Pete (Fran) and Tim (Stephane); aunt Gail; cousins, Jenny, Tristan, Nicole, Rochelle and Allison; and his two little men Buddy and Bear. Tim was predeceased by his grandparents and his uncle Richard. Tim will be missed by family, and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Condolence Messages

  1. My sincere condolences to the family. While I did not get a chance to meet Tim, Rose is and has been a wonderful co-worker. There is nothing I can say that will diminish the grief so I will just say that cancer is a disease that takes people before their time and I hope that there comes a time when it will not darken peoples lives.
    Best wishes,
    Rod

    Rose and family:
May you find strength you didn’t know you had left to get you through this incredibly difficult and heart breaking time. I was lucky to have had a chance to work side by side, though across the miles, for several year as Tim’s counterpart in the DE office. In my many years at Ametek I never heard anything but kind words when Tim’s name was mentioned. So many people, so lucky to have been blessed by his friendship, even if for too short a time. May the outpouring of kind sentiments and treasured memories bring you some peace of mind.
    With sincere sympathy,
    Madeline

  18. I will always think of Tim as a true gentleman. I have known him for nearly twenty five years, and in that time I never heard him say a bad word or complain about anything. During the last eighteen months when asked how are young doing?, he always found something positive to say. We lose too many good people to this hideous illness and in Tim we lost a genuine kind friend.
