GRAY, Jocelyn Dorothea (nee Brennan)

December 3, 1926 – July 15, 2013

On Monday, July 15 2013 Jocelyn Gray passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital, in Calgary, surrounded by family members.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her four children Ian (Karen), Anne (Dave), Clyde, Lorne; and her grandchildren Grayson, Owen and Rachel. Jocelyn also had a special place in her heart for Lorne’s friend Lisa and her son Simon. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty-five years, Victor (Vic); her parents Clyde and Annie May and her brother Lester.

Jocelyn was born in Lachine, Quebec and lived in the Montreal region most of her life. She graduated from McDonald College (McGill), married in 1953 and subsequently moved with her young family to Roxboro, Quebec, where Vic served for many years as Town Manager.
Jocelyn was active in the founding of Roxboro United Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a long serving member of the United Church Women. She relocated to Calgary in 2007 and enjoyed her later years at the Boardwalk Retirement Community.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held Monday, July 29, 2013, 1 PM at Hillhurst United Church, 1227 Kensington Close, NW, Calgary. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

Jocelyn was a gardener and loved flowers; floral donations will be passed on to long term care facilities. Or, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 781-1978, www.heartandstroke.ca. The family would like to express its appreciation of Dr. T. Calder and the staff of Unit 73 of the Rockyview for their care of Jocelyn in her final days.
