We are saddened at the news of Doug’s death. He was a trusted friend and our accountant for over 40 years. We always looked forward to a little visit when we came to his office. He always had time for a some personal chat, asking about Dick’s piloting adventures; our family and such things. He was such a nice guy, and had a quiet sense of humor. Our condolences to his family and close friends. We hope he gets to ride his motorcycle in heaven.

As for a soccer coach and fan, he was the best. He will now be with his beloved Judy to look down on you both. Both of your parents were taken too soon. We have shared many great times with you girls and your parents and will miss your dad very much. We also appreciated his help with accounting over the years, he was a real professional.

  15. Ron and Sharon Colvin :

    Amy and Carrie –

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the recent passing of your dad. Your dad looked after our professional and personal accounting needs during his entire accounting career. We will truly miss him both as a friend and professional.

We were pleased to share in his excitement over the sale of the family home, subsequent move to a lovely condo and ensuing preparations for the recent visit from Greece of Amy, Manolis and baby Douglas. He was delighted at how everything seemed to come together for him. He was especially thankful for all the help given him by Jackie, Carrie and others that made his move go smoothly. In all the years we’ve known Doug, we’ve never seen him happier than when he was sharing pictures of his new grandson and namesake. It’s wonderful that the family was able to have this very special time together.

Our sincere condolences to all at this very sad time.
    Ron and Sharon Colvin

    Hi Carrie & Amy,
Fran called to tell me that your dad passed away on the 16th. I am not sure if you remember me, I was Wendy’s friend from Calgary & grew up across the alley in Edmonton from the Coffin family.
I just wanted to say I was very sad to hear about your dad’s passing. I knew your mom a lot better but enjoyed both of them and of course, Wendy was my best friend. She talked about both of you often & we did meet along the way. You girls were very special to her. Anyways, my heart is with you both at this sad time.

Amy and Carrie – I am so very sorry for your dad’s sudden passing. My late husband, Terry, loved to have the occasional lunch with him through the many years and I was happy to see Doug out and about in his sporty red car – something fun that he worked hard for. It is a sad time for you – so walk with him, talk with him, and often laugh with him. He is always with you. My sympathy – Lea
