GRAHAM, John James

July 26, 1947 – September 3, 2012

John beloved husband of Louise Mary Graham of Calgary, AB, passed away on September 3, 2012 at the age of 65 years.

John was born on July 26, 1947 in New Westminster, BC. At the age of sixteen he joined the Royal Canadian Service Corps and was posted for one year in Egypt with Nato. He lived in Masset, Queen Charlotte Islands, B.C. for 27years. During this time John was a self-employed Commercial Fisherman and also a manager with BC Hydro. John married Louise on April 8, 1967 and has resided in Calgary for the last 13years where he became the owner of his own company, C.W. Eavestroughing (Calgary) Inc. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was respected by all his employees and fellow contractors. His most memorable trip was the one they took in their motor home to Disneyland with his family. He also enjoyed the song “My Maria” by Brooks and Dunn. His greatest joy in his life are John’s four grand-children; Michael, Caitlin, Brendon and Haley, as well as family and friends. John fought a six year courageous battle with Cancer and will always be remembered as a fabulous husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend to many.
John is survived by his loving wife Louise of 45 years, daughter D’Arcy and son-in-law Scott and best friends “Shilo” and “Odie”

    My fondest memory of uncle John was taking us kids to the government pier to go crab fishing, seeing salt water sharks and cleaning uncles boat. He was always joking and always had a smile on his face.

    I am so very sorry to hear of John’s passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. John and I were in Egypt together and lived in the same building. He was a great friend and a fun guy. I was so pleased to see John and have a chat with him at the Apprentice Reunion in 2009, the first time we saw each other since 1967. Rest in Peace John. Gone but not forgotten.
