GRAHAM, Gordon

May 2, 1933 – June 8, 2012

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Gordon Graham, our beloved husband, Dad, Grampa, and Great Grampa, passed away peacefully in Calgary, at the age of 79, following a very lengthy illness.

Left to mourn are Dawn, his loving and devoted wife of forty-eight years, his children, Debbie Duguay, Darrol Graham, Lori and Darryl Brailsford, Randy and Lori Graham and daughter-in-law, Marg Graham (Keith Wylie); his grandchildren Tony (Jessie), Rick, and Rob (Amanda) Graham, Jamie Duguay, Spencer and Paige Graham, Kimberly and Jennifer Brailsford, and Ryan and Brianne Graham; and his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ben, Ashley, Nathan, Kayla and Justin Graham. He is also survived by his sister, Helene (Rudi) Hofmann; brother, Tom (Gladys) Guzmanuk; brother-in-law David (Barbara) Ferguson; and sisters-in-law Diane Valentine and Danise (Ron) Boorne and their families. Gordon was predeceased by sons, Brett and Michael Graham; grandson Geordie Graham; and brother, Mike Guzmanuk.

Gordon was an employee with Canadian Western Natural Gas Company (ATCO) for forty-three years. Outside of work, he liked to “putter” in his yard, watch CNN, fish, and spend time with family. Dad’s favourite times were those spent around the campfire at the family farm in Bergen, AB, with his loving canine companion, Keta, at his side (along with the family “pooches”). Dad always had a knack for having the right solution, or tool, to fix any problem, and we are grateful to him for the many valuable lessons. His inner strength and courage helped him to remain with us for much longer than any of his doctors expected, but the time came for him to rest.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the numerous medical professionals for all of their caring attention through the years, with a heartfelt thanks to Maria, who did so much.

At Dad’s request, no service will be held. A family memorial gathering will be planned for a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through . In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations can be made in Gordon’s name to a charity of your choice.

“Forever and Always L.U.M.”

In living memory of Gordon Graham, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: (403) 241-0044.
