June 17, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Bishun Dayal Govind passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the age of 72 years.

Bishun and his family immigrated to Canada in 1974, in hopes for a better life for his family, and also lived in Sydney Australia for a brief time. Over the years he dedicated his time to the Fijian Soccer Community .He loved watching hockey, reading and simply spending time with his grandchildren which brought him much joy and happiness.

Bishun worked as a heavy duty mechanic for 30+ years. Over the years he battled his illness with strength and courage and never gave up.

Bishun is survived by his daughters, Ranjana (Shailend Sharma)and Janice (Ritesh Chandra); his son Daniel Govind (Christy); seven grandchildren, Ashneil, Rajneil, Ishaan, Rohan, Rupi, Joshua and Jordan; and his sibling Shiu Narayan Govind He is also survived by his sister-in-laws and by numerous nieces and nephews overseas.

Bishun was predeceased by his loving wife Daya; his parents Ram Govind and Rampiari; his siblings, Hardip Narayan, Shiu Dayal, Shiu Bilas and sister Chandra.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through family wishes to extend their gratitude to the numerous health care staff and physicians who cared for Bishun.
