January 7, 1957 – Edmonton, Alberta
October 18, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
Always loved, always remembered.
Lisa M. Goodman, cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt passed away on Saturday October 18, 2014 at the age of 57 years.
Lisa worked in the banking industry for most of her career. She started as a teller at Scotia Bank and moved her way up to Senior Account Manager – high value clients at Royal Bank. She was a dedicated employee and self-proclaimed workaholic who took pride in helping her clients and coworkers. During her career, she was nominated numerous times for the Royal Performance International Award and won the Calgary Account Manager of the Year twice. She was also certified as a Securities Advisor. Lisa retired from banking fifteen years ago due to health issues.
Lisa loved spending time with her friends and family. She often had people over for home cooked meals or parties, and spent many an hour perfecting recipes like her spaghetti sauce and chili. She became an expert at the card game hand and foot after playing with her friends for many years on weekends and vacations.
Lisa enjoyed camping with friends, family, and pets. Some of her favourite memories were from camping in Sandpoint and Windermere. The mountains and water held a special place in her heart.
Lisa had a generous heart and would give the shirt off her back. She on more than one occasion gave someone her car when she felt they needed it more than her. She tried to make everyone in her life feel special. She liked to lavish gifts and treats on her family, particularly her pets. Anyone who needed a place to stay or someone to talk to was welcome in her home.
Lisa spent her evenings after work doing quiet activities including gardening, reading, and ceramics. She loved collecting knickknacks. Over the years she collected a pack of dogs, a family of owls, and a kaleidoscope of butterflies and dragonflies. Her collecting passion moved to glassware after she travelled to Israel and had to spend several hours in a glass shop due to a bomb scare. By the time she was able to leave the shop, she had haggled the owner into practically giving her a set of wine glasses.
She opened her heart and her home to all. To be a friend was to be family and she placed family above all else.
She is survived by husband Jack Goodman; daughter Darla Clark (Spencer); mother Donna Lien (Ron); brothers Cam Lien (Debbie) and Warren Lien (Sun Hee); sister Kerry Kraft (Randy); sister-in-law Donna Crawford; nieces and nephews, Frank Crawford (Melissa), Robyn Crawford, Kristen Lien, Geoffrey Lien, Tyler Kraft, Evan Lien, and Amara Kraft; step-nieces, Nicki Fitterer (Bernie), Lisa Carson, Donna Carson; and her beloved cat Dot.
