Krystyna Glodkiewicz, beloved wife of Adam Glodkiewicz of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the age of 62 years.
Krystyna was born January 20, 1951 in Krakow, Poland. In 1975, she married her husband Adam in Krakow, moved to Bytom; where they lived together until immigrating to London, England in 1987 and then Calgary in 1989. Krystyna studied pharmacy in Krakow; graduating from nursing school in Bytom and after arriving in Calgary she worked as a nurse at Foothills Hospital in the Tom Baker Centre as well as the Cardiology Centre. Since 2012, she served as an active member of the Vox Populi Choir at Our Lady Queen of Peach Church.
Her greatest moments were spent with her husband and daughter traveling across Western Canada and the United States, also visiting Mexico, Costa Rica and Cuba. In the winter she enjoyed downhill skiing in Lake Louise and Mount Norquay and in the summer hiking the Rockies. A favourite past-time was her artistic embroidery of tablecloths in the traditional Polish Kasubian style. Krystyna enjoyed the music of Enigma, Rubik and Johnny Hallyday. Her greatest weaknesses were her golden retriever Barney and her grandson Patryk.
Besides her loving husband, Krystyna is survived by her daughter Anna, son-in-law Dariusz Lasota and grandson Patryk of Calgary, AB, as well as nieces Karolina and Natalia.
Krystyna was predeceased by her parents Anna and Jan Chwastek and her sister Ewa Sommer.Print This Obituary & Condolences
