GIRVITZ, Kenneth Sidney

February 27, 1944 – April 21, 2013

Kenneth Sidney Girvitz passed away on April 21, 2013 at the age of 69. Ken will be missed by his loving wife Reesa, his children David (Marina), Ronald (Tara), Geoffrey (Stephanie) and Carla (Ohad) and his grandchildren Daniel, Joshua, Natalie and Eden. Ken was born on February 27, 1944 in St. Bonifice, Manitoba, was the eldest of five children and was predeceased by his brother Elliott Leonard. Ken was active throughout his life with many and varied volunteer organizations but was always a cowboy at heart. Ken passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the Inter-care Southwood Hospice. The family would like to thank the caregivers at the hospice, Dr. Sam Schorr and Dr. Stuart Ross for their many years of compassion. Funeral Services will be held at the new Jewish Memorial Chapel and Cemetery located at the northeast corner of Highway 22X and 37 St. S.W., Calgary on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Internment to follow at: Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, 162 Ave. S.W. (Off Macleod Tr. S.). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
