Melania Agnes Gikas-Schmitz of Calgary passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 4 years, just shy of her 5th birthday.
Our sweet angel has been sick for a long time; she was one tough cookie and the light of our lives. Our Precious Pooky is no longer in our arms but will forever be remembered in our hearts for her amazing spirit, for all her glorious smiles and for the unconditional love that she gave to anyone who was fortunate enough to have come in contact with her. This little angel was so loved that she was blessed with three moms and two dads. Her life was not too short and not too long but just right for our little bug.
Melania is survived by her Mom and Dad Nicole Gikas and Tyler Schmitz; big brother Kristos (kiki); twin sister Evthoxcia (Cia Bia); and her baby sister Alexandra (Bean). She is also survived and treasured by her Grammy (mom) and Grandpa (dad) Sherri and Dimitrios Gikas; and by her Thea Lexi (mom) Gikas. Melly bear is also survived by her papa and nana Clint and Michelle Schmitz; Uncles: Mike (Niki) Gikas, George (Keera) Gikas, and Brandon Schmitz; Aunts: Leah Paulucci, Breena & Terri Schmitz; great-grandparents, Ben & Liz Lomheim and Velma Schmitz & Linda Lucy; cousins, Kristina, Dimitrios, Coleton, Chayson, Chloe and Isabella Gikas, Shane, Paige and Rave Schmitz; as well as many great uncles, aunts and cousins.
Melania was predeceased by her great-grandmothers, Agnes Lomheim and Alexandra Gikas; great-grandfathers, George Gikas, Alexander Schmitz and Andre Vinck; great-cousin Melanie Lomheim; as well as her great-great-grandparents, aunts and uncles.
