Glendon (Glen) Bruce Gibson peacefully passed on to his heavenly home on March 14th, 2015, with his wife Geri by his side in Calgary, Alberta.
Glen was born February 18, 1936 in Westport, Ontario to Spencer and Ruby Pearl Gibson (Ferguson). At 16 Glen joined the Navy serving on the east coast of Canada before being transferred to Victoria, B.C. Glen owned and operated Glen Gibson Contractors Inc. a specialized heavy trucking business for 25 years. Glen was proud to have hauled pre-fabricated concrete for Con-Force Structures Ltd. to many Calgary landmarks including Bankers Hall and Calgary International Airport. He also hauled for the oil and gas industry and moved crusher spreads for Inland Aggregate. Glen was interested in gardening, he especially loved cultivating roses, as well as attending rodeos.
Glen is predeceased by his brother Floyd and his sister Vera. Glen is survived by his wife Geri, his sisters Doris and Bonnie and his brother John, his children Gloria (Loretta), Carol (Loretta), Kim (Loretta), Kim (Pat), Lauren (Colette), and Crystal (Geri), the mothers of his children, Loretta, Pat, and Colette, his 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
