  5. To Ghislain and family,
I have so many fond memories of Sam. I’m sure you already know how special she is but by posting this, I’m confirming it, all the way from California. She was the first person who accepted me for me and showed me love, continually. I’m going to miss my Vera Lynn.

  6. Jeremy Chadwick :

My condolences go out to Samantha’s family and all her friends, both online and off.

I met Samantha online 2 years ago, and over the past year had established a deep friendship with her that felt cosmic in every way possible, and on multiple levels. We even shared the same birthday.

In some online chat rooms, Samantha was the keystone that brought many of us together via her zany humour, objectivity, and love. She often cared more about everyone’s well-being more so than her own. Most of us did not have the chance to meet her in person, but some like myself had the opportunity to talk with her over Skype or the phone, allowing us to put a voice with words.

No matter the communication method, Sam was very real to all of us and not just a “random Internet entity”. Her passing has affected all of us online, many of whom are still in shock; we’ve been grieving with real tears, not virtual ones.

Personally, Samantha meant the world to me, and chatting with her was an integral part of my day. I feel lucky having been given the chance to get to know her over the past few years, and would give anything to hear her laugh just one more time. In my heart and soul Sam is still with me, and I sincerely believe she knows she’ll never be forgotten.

The only thing I can think to write at this point is to her Sam directly: you meant so much to me, and to so many others. You cannot be replaced; you were too unique a person. You were loved and appreciated unconditionally. I miss you so much.

I am thankful we will get a chance to say goodbye on Sunday. Our prayers are with you, Susan, Lawrence, and Sam’s closest friends.

  8. Karen Homan & Niki Lee Hunter :

    To Ghislain and Samanthas Family;
I knew sammy since July 22, 2013. I liked her the minute I met her she was friendly, fun and very kind, it was in a chatroom. It wasn’t long and she became an op with me and from that point on I called her my “angel” because she was always looking out for me, she always cared more about others than she did about herself. She was such a beautiful human being. I will miss her so much, but I will never ever forget her. God brought her into my life for such a short time and I treasure every minute we spent together. I was not lucky enough to get to talk to her on the phone or meet her in real life, just internet. But she was such a wonderful person her love and energy crossed through the lines and entered my heart and she will be forever written on my heart.
I am so very sorry about sammy passing. We lost a wonderful human but Heaven gained an Angel. I love you sammy!
May God Bless your Family in their hour of need.

  9. I met Sam while a noob on World of Warcraft, from a chance conversation about the Disc world books, she took me under her boomkin wings and we became friends, over the years she had been a real life and virtual friend, guide and agony aunt to me, able to make me laugh till my jaw ached and tears ran down my cheeks with the wackiest sense of humour that I have ever come across. She loved her family, her friends and her pets, had a heart bigger than Canada and a soul that enveloped you with her warmth.

I never had the privilege to meet Sam in person, something that I will always regret. When I heard about her passing I could not believe it was true, I am still in shock. My life like many others will be the poorer for her not being here anymore.

Sam I wish you were still here to share silly jokes, stories and cute doggie pictures, you gave me some good memories to remember you by, I just wish there could be a thousands more.

My condolences to all who loved and knew her.

For the five months I knew you they were filled with lots of laughter, a lot of caring and a friendship that grew over such a short period of time. I’m sad because I miss you and am heart broken you’re gone but I think God needed another angel to come home and he could not have needed a more special one.

Love and miss you so much…………….

  15. Sam, when I heard that you had left us I was sure that it couldn’t be true. The idea of not having my daily “Hey honi! :)” message from you is too hard to imagine.

We only knew each other for a few years, but from the first time we talked I could tell you were special, and it felt like you were a lifelong friend right from the start. Whether it was playing a game with you or just chatting together till the sun came up every minute I spent in your company made my life brighter.

For all the moments that you made me laugh till I cried, lent a virtual shoulder when I had a bad day, and for always knowing the exactly right thing to say to make everything seem better I can’t begin to thank you.

There are no words to describe how much I will miss you.

  20. Nicole Dmytruk :

I met Sam in junior high. During our school years and into high school we spent spare time and lunch breaks in our group of friends. We passed countless hours either doing homework or as we called it “analyzing” everyone around us. Both of us had our own phone line in our room so we spent lots of time talking. In high-school we worked together at Tags where Sam showed me the important things like making rice crispy squares. Around this time Sam got a car which was fun. We drove around a lot listening to music or went to the beach. We even went on road trips to stay in the city with her sister. She even got me a job at Boisvert’s which I may not forgive her for! I visited Sam at various apartments in our post-secondary years and she at mine. We went to each other’s weddings and stayed at each other’s houses. In the early years we’ve had our highs and lows but as we turned into adults we found a comfortable and constant place in each other’s lives. Recently we’ve enjoyed girlfriend weekends with Gwen and Tina – memories we 3 will have to reflect on forever. Sam was always a letter, call, email or text message away… Everyone knows how amazing she was but this is a friend who was in my life for most of it. I’ll miss her for the rest of it as well. There is nobody else like her and there’s an empty spot in my heart now. Love you, miss you, bye!

I am really shocked and I was heartbroken by this sad news. I have no words to describe how sorry I am for your loss.
Dear Ghislain & Sam’s family, please accept my sincere condolences.
I knew Sam since the end of the 90’s and at that time I was searching for a friend to help improve my english. We wrote each other lots & chatted regularly. I am sad that we never visited each other. She was such a warm-hearted, nice & funny person much too young to leave us. Sam will always stay in my heart.
    I will miss you…
